Good Night, Baltimore!

It's the end of a very long day and this is first chance (and computer) I've had to catch you up. The laptop I bought in Kennesaw before I left hasn't worked right yet, so unless Hamp's is around, I don't have computer access. Today was OK because we unloaded the truck and spent some time getting things settled in the apartment. Hamp needed to make a few work calls for a while this afternoon, so I made my first solo trip (aided by the GPS I swore I'd never have!) and went to Best Buy to get the computer issue resolved. They were very friendly and helpful, swapped it out for a new one for me, and it will be ready tomorrow. So hopefully I'll have more personal and pictoral posts soon.

As you can imagine, there is lots to tell you about. I'm way too tired tonight to tell you anymore than I already have. But Kit has some great visuals to go with her story, so we'll probably let her be the narrator and astound you with her perspective.

On a random, closing thought...why would you be singing if you live in an apartment building at 11:30 at night when you have neighbors next door or below you? We haven't figured the exact location out, but based on what I'm hearing, she should just speak...quietly!!

I just had to laugh at your description of the singing neighbor! :) Paige and I had noisy neighbors who were under our apartment that first year of marriage. At the time Paige was in the Navy Band as a bass guitar player and also played tuba or susaphone (sp?). Well, he got revenge by putting the bell of his tuba on the floor and giving a good loud blast one night when they were extremely obnoxious with their noise and it put an end to the problem! Ha!

I hope everything will soon be settled in your apartment. It is so nice that Best Buy was able to help you out with the laptop situation. What a blessing to have a laptop!

I look forward to seeing your photos. I'm sure Kit will continue to make life in Baltimore very interesting with her perspective!

Lots of hugs,Glenda

Hey Friend, went to dinner last night with Johnny and Debbie. Johnny is doing GREAT! Debbie and I made the diaper cake for Corrie's shower. It is so Cute. I had a travel special on my e-mail that expires today. Looks like really good pricing. What is good pricing in your opinion. Flights must be booked by today to get discount. I'm at work today but let me know if you get this and I might book a flight for sometime this summer to see you. Debbie wants to come, too. Who knows, you might be back from your "long" trip by then. Miss and Love you, Janet

The singing neighbor made me laugh. It's always those quirky people that somehow, strangely become our new best friends! Let us know what she is like when you finally meet. Well, I can't believe I'm saying this--"but I'm off to work."

Glad you guys arrived safely...what a journey, and it's only beginning. Oh, the joys of apartment living...I guess singing is better than fighting. We lived in one place where the fellow had returned from Vietnam and he would wake up startled and attack his wife in fear. Broke her arm once. We would have to lock our door every minute, because one time he just wandered into the "wrong" apartment (ours) drunk. That was an experience. I'm sure yours will prove much better! Blessings to you both.
