This And That

I feel like I've been in a rock tumbler today. I realized that I actually haven't had many days like that since moving because I haven't known enough people or had that much to do to keep my days very full. But adding work to the mix has taken a lot of my free time so when things like holidays or traveling are thrown in, I suddenly remember what being too busy is like. For the record, I'm not a fan of it and am not sure we're supposed to live that way, but that's another entry for another day.

I have discovered a not so healthy way to stop and just "be" for a little while but I wish I hadn't. It's Matthew's fault for introducing me to it during Thanksgiving.

That, folks, is a peppermint hot chocolate and it's quite tasty. I feel certain I'm not burning off near the calories necessary to drink it on a regular basis, but I suppose there are worse ways to not take care of myself.

Moving on...I got a few good pictures of the snow we saw in Boston this past weekend. Most of it fell after dark so I didn't get to really see it which is my favorite part. But the view out of our hotel window the next morning was beautiful.

A sight that made Michael sigh rather loudly was all the snow sticks that are placed at the side of curbs to mark where they are so the plows know where the road ends. They were everywhere - in our hotel parking lot, shopping centers, neighborhood streets - proof that winter is upon him.

We did some wedding talking and planning as we met with Bekah's parents but I'm not sure she felt like much progress was made.

It's fun to watch her and Michael together. :)

After church on Sunday, we all had lunch together in Rockport before Bekah's parents had to head back to New York. I got this picture of Motiff Number 1 as I sat by the window in The Greenery where we had lunch. If you've seen the movie, "The Proposal" you might recognize this from the scene where they arrive in "Alaska" and she has to climb in the boat. Those scenes were filmed in Rockport and the mountains in the background were added in through special effects. Pretty cool, huh?

I love the little town of Rockport which is north of Gloucester and just south of Maine. The whole north shore area is beautiful and makes me think of a Norman Rockwell painting.

As I finish this, Hamp is on his way home from work where he was called to a fire in the exhaust pipe area by the presses. Sometimes you just have to laugh because there is no end to the ridulous things that keep happening. Yes, I realize it could be the end of a job for him here if things don't improve soon. If that becomes reality, then I guess we'll be adding another chapter to this tale we've fallen into, won't we?

Jill, hugs to you. I miss you, but oh so love that you blog! The pictures are amazing.

Isn't it interesting the paths that God takes us on? He really knows how to stretch us, but I love how in the end of each trial, our relationship with Him is always strengthend.
