Snapshots

Greetings from sunny Florida! I realize it's been a while since my last post, but that is the result from the crazy schedule we had during our travels at Christmas. I don't really have time to bring you completely up to date right now because Tiffany and I are going to be participating in "theme park therapy" later today. (I rode back to Florida with her after Christmas to spend a couple of days and I head back to Baltimore tomorrow.)

So much has occurred in the last week that needs to be processed and hopefully I'll have time to do so in the next few days. Right now, I feel like all I have are snapshots in my head that capture a little of this and a little of that and like real pictures, they're spread out all over the place waiting to be organized. This could be a little scary, but I'll give you an idea of the randomness from the last week.

~Holiday driving is most effective during the hours others are not traveling

~Pets are happy additions to a family

~Life's difficulties are made easier when shared with those who love you

~New love is fun to observe and makes you feel young again

~Sunshine and warmth are soul enhancing

~Family traditions connect hearts in special ways

~Babies are the perfect way to keep life going

~Being together with those you love really is the best gift

~Remaining young at heart helps you deal with the reality of getting older

~The ability to sleep should never be taken for granted

~When life doesn't look like it was supposed to, God reminds us He's still there

There are many more pictures from our Christmas gatherings that are still on the cameras of other family members, so it may be a few days before I have them to share with you. For now, I must get ready to experience the magic of Disney and some much needed soul refreshment.

As 2009 rapidly comes to an end, may we use these couple of days as a time of reflection to consider what is most important in life. For me, I've realized anew that people really are the only treasure you can take with you to heaven and I hope to never forget that everyone really does matter.

What well written thoughts. I understood everything except the Gumbie? picture. I love the picture of Michael and his fiance. Love you friend!
